For those who wish to stay at the villa out of the peak summer season, the A/C units are dual purpose, ie can cool in the summer months and can heat during the cooler months.  Underfloor heating inside the villa is also fitted.

ACCOMMODATION
The lounge, kitchen and dining area is open plan, creating light and airy living space.  At one end is a stylishly tiled fully fitted kitchen with oven, hob, dishwasher etc and quality base and cupboard units housing all the necessary equipment for a luxury self-catering holiday.

The dining/lounge/living area leads from the kitchen and is furnished in 'funky' bright colours, which is a delight to the eye!  The lounge area has comfy sofas, chairs, coffee table and lamps, flat screen TV with Turkish 'freeview' satellite system (some English channels), DVD player and Hi Fi unit.  The Hi-Fi unit has a USB port to enable MP3 player connection. The glass dining table extends to seat 6.

BEDROOMS - 4 All with A/C
Bedroom  1 (Master) - the master bedroom has wall to wall patio doors providing magnificent sea views.  The doors open onto a huge balcony which span the width of the villa, the balcony has a table and chairs for two. This room has a large double bed, plenty of wardrobe and drawer space and an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower.

Bedroom 2 - similar to master bedroom but a little smaller.  Patio doors lead to the balcony, views of the surrounding hills and Aegean.  Double bed, wardrobes, drawer units and bedside cabinets, lamps etc.

Bedroom 3 - single bed, wardrobes, drawer units, bedside cabinets, lamps etc.  Patio doors lead to the balcony. Sea views.

Bedroom 4 - single bed, wardrobes, drawer units, bedside cabinets, lamps etc. Sea views.

BATHROOMS - 3.
En-suite to bedroom 1.  Jacuzzi bath with shower, WC and wash basin.
Bathroom 2. Shower, WC and wash basin, upper floor, serves bedrooms 2 and 3.
Family Bathroom.  With shower, WC and wash basin at entrance level and just outside bedroom 4.

Other - hairdryer, outside dining table and chairs, plus 'lounge' sofa and chairs, sun loungers, BBQ.

Cleaning & laundry - fresh bed linen and towels are provided.  A washing machine and tumble drier are provided for guest's use (also an iron and ironing board) and can be found in the utility area in the cupboard below the stairs.  The villa will be cleaned on arrival and departure.  Included in the price for two week stays is a mid-term mini clean ie change of bed linen, quick clean of bathrooms, kitchen and general tidy up.  Should you wish further regular cleans during your stay, this can be arranged for an additional charge - please contact us for costs.  Beach towels are not provided.

OUTSIDE
The villa's private pool (can be heated in winter for an additional charge) quietly ripples in front of the villa. The large pool and sun bathing deck has been built with non-slip tiles and is therefore child safe.  As you would expect, the pool faces the sea and surrounding hillside.  Sun loungers are provided for guest use.  At night time, enjoy al fresco dining watching the twinkling lights around the bay light up as dusk falls.

For those wanting to escape the sun, there is plenty of shade under the covered terrace area outside the lounge.

The private gardens around the villa are well landscaped and fenced with the communal areas maintained and planted to a high standard. 

Beach - for beach lovers.  Less than a 10 min walk down hill is a sandy beach with loungers and shades which are available to the public for a small fee.

Transport/Airport Transfer - although the local Dolmus (minibus) service runs past the main entrance to the development, car hire is recommended to enable you to explore the towns and villages of the Bodrum Peninsula.  It takes approximately 6-8 mins to drive into Yalikavak in one direction and approximately 20 mins to the larger town of Turgutreis in the other.

Shop/Bakal - there is a small mini-market, shop (Bakal in Turkish) a short distance away.  You will find many of these dotted about and they are open late into the night.

Market - Each Thursday, Yalikavak hosts a large vendor's market with a range of fruit, vegetables, olives, cheeses, herbs and spices for sale on one side of the road and clothing, souvenirs etc on the other.  Worth a visit as its a very colourful sight.

Banks/supermarkets/petrol stations etc
Yalikavak (the nearest town/village) is a short drive away.  Here you will find several banks, Garanti & Finansbank are two good ones, these have ATMs.  Large supermarkets, Carrefour, Migros and Tansas can also be found on the outskirts of Yalikavak, whereas just outside Bodrum (Ortakent area) there is a very large Kipa (Tesco) and next door, Metro (Makro) cash and carry - visitors can apply for a day pass for the latter.
Local shops (mini markets or Bakals as they are known in Turkey) can be found almost everywhere and are open late at nights.
Petrol stations - again in Yalikavak near the large supermarkets above or on the main road out of Yalikavak to Bodrum.

We are back into the rainy autumn weather and remembering the villa in Turkey always brings a smile.  We had a fabulous holiday and I would say Villa Helene played a large factor in that.  The villa is tasteful and  modern, is well equipped ( we particularly valued the wi fi) and has lovely views. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool and the tranquil location – just what we were after. It would be a picky person who would criticise this villa.  We did explore the nearest beach as directed, but it was largely given over to beach club so no real use.  The location of the villa was good in terms of visiting other places.  We enjoyed going to Gumsuluk a lot, and obviously Yalakavak. 

Thank you for the helpful restaurant recommendations – we visited several and enjoyed them.

I would recommend the villa any day and of our tours of the peninsula I like the Gumsuluk, Gundogen, Yalikavak area best so the villa has a good location.
